This series was inspired by thinking of the food we eat, where it comes from and the people thathelp it grow. Difficult and low paying jobs are fulfilled by an immigrant community that is rarely appreciated or thought about, yet we have a whole economy of food worship. Even worse, they have been demonized and disrespected by many of us. It was thinking about them, their lives and being grateful for the work they do that led me to paint this series of portraits.
